Under The Covers : Kareena Kapoor Khan for Vogue India Feb 2013

I'm almost sure I'm straight but I just can't get my eyes off Kareena Kapoor Khan in Vogue's February 2013. I mean is this even legal???

I don't know if its the OMGIwantit Christian Dior (Cruise 2013) dress, the Philip Treacy top hat, the hair, the lip colour or just Mrs. Kapoor-Khan's seductive good looks but she is totally working it. A thousand times better than her usual filmy wardrobe. Well played Anaita Shroff Adajania ( Fashion Director, Vogue), well played.

The Cover-story was shot at the Taj Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad.

If you still cant't get over this ( I know I can't) watch this video of the whole shoot.

Maybe heaven right now is a devil or angel away
That won't change
Together we vow that our colours will sparkle the faith

Floating Studs Necklace Tutorial

For those of you who don't know me, I'm OBSESSED with studs! I stick them on my belts, laptop sleeve, shoes, accessories, pretty much anything. Here's a real easy and FIERCE necklace you can make for instaglamming any outfit!

Here's the step-by-step tutorial

Things you need :

  • 1 plastic sheet (ask for an OHP sheet)
  • 1 printer paper
  • Stick-on studs
  • 20-30 cms thin chain
  • Jump rings
  • Clasp
  • Permanent glue
  • Marker
  • CelloTape

STEP 1:

Cut out your desired shape on the printer paper and stick it with tape on the OHP sheet. I used this shape because its easy to cut out from the corner of the paper and looks great with V-Neck tops!
Now cut along the paper stencil and then remove the paper entirely.

STEP 2 :

Arrange the studs in any pattern you like. Remember to leave some empty space in between so that when you wear it, the studs look like they are floating around your neck.
Now stick the studs on the plastic. I used Fabrica glue because of it's easy applicator. You can use any permanent glue - feviquick, UHU, etc.
Leave it over-night to dry.

STEP 3 :

Make two holes on the top with a needle or anything sharp. Insert the jump rings through the holes.

STEP 4 :

Now insert the chain through the jump rings. Size the chain according to your neck and where you want the necklace. It looks best on bare skin so try and make the chain short. I've used a 10 cm chain on either side. Use jump rings on the other side of the chain as well and attach a clasp on one of them.

And there you have it!
A statement necklace the defies gravity.

PS: I get all my supplies from Something Special on Hill Road, Bandra. All the things needed in this tutorial are quite easily available at any stationery store.

Hello World!

I started Super Shiny Stuff just after graduating when I was jobless, bored and needed something to do. It all started while shopping online. I saw a necklace on asos.com and fell instantly in love! I sent the link to a friend and she refused to let me buy it! "Its not worth it!", she said. Fine! I'll just make it! And this was the result!

Now, I have a job I love(in fashion!!!) but these creative feeling don't just go away! Therefore I'm converting Super Shiny Stuff to a D.I.Y blog! It's gonna have DIY tutorials, fashion updates, inspirations, gossip, inside info, music, food and pretty much anything that catches my fancy. Stay tuned for a lot of fun, fashion and amateur pictures clicked on my phone :P
