Ice Moon Ice Cream

Happy long weekend everyone! Here is a treat to make your Easter even sweeter. Is this a great alternative to boring marzipan eggs or what?

Oh Häagen-Dazs! These were created by London designers Doshi Levien

The orange moon consists of crunchy chocolate at the bottom, layers of nutty ice cream and salted caramel all covered with vanilla ice cream.

The white moon has a pistachio biscuit base, layers of macadamia nut ice cream, meringue and a coat of raspberry ice cream.

The designer duo is very inspired by Bollywood and India. Read more here

Meanwhile, feel bad because I have no idea where you get these.

Naeem Khan at LFW 2013

By some miracle I managed to get passes for Naeem Khan's first ever show in Mumbai!

The NYC based designer, who has dressed the likes of Michelle Obama. Beyonce and Leighton Meester, was born in Mumbai. His work consists of dramatic and heavily embellished gowns and dresses best suited for the red carpet. The collection he showed at LFW was the same as the one seen at New York Fashion Week earlier this year.

The clothes were beautiful and intricately embroidered. He used velvet, embellishments, embroidery and screen printing. The silhouettes were either full skirts or slinky gowns. The silk pants and skirt gown really caught my eye. As did the champagne skirt with a fully embellished top. The embellishments glittered magically under the lights. It was all very dramatic and awe-inspiring. He did not use a celebrity show stopper but there was enough glitterati on the front row.

Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2013

Its Fashion Week time!!! After the spectacular FDCI Wills India Fashion Week in New Delhi, Mumbai hosts its own Lakme Fashion Week.

Its been a mad week trying to juggle work and Fashion Week but I got REALLY lucky! Not only did I get to go for the Tigre Blanc LFW Launch party at Tote on Thursday but also got to go for Naeem Khan's first ever show in Mumbai!!! I know right? I couldn't believe it either!.

The LFW offsite began with a beautiful show by Tarun Tahiliani, which was graced by famous Shoe Designer Christian Louboutin. Tigre Blanc threw an after party jam packed with celebs and vodka. My favourite look of the night was Simone Singh looking pretty in a mint dress and white blazer. Maybe it was because I(top, left) was wearing a white blazer as well :P

Emerald Green Shoes Tutorial

First of all, I'm happy to inform everyone that I've taken up photography! I realized that my images weren't the best, so I got me a good camera. Say au revoir to cloudy images and Hola! to beautiful colours and details.

Speaking of colour, Pantone says Emerald Green is the colour of 2013. I absolutely agree. It is a beautiful hue, both royal and refreshing. I bought a cute green satchel from Accesorize but still needed more. So I made these.

Who doesn't love yummy pops of colour?

For these shoes, you will need :

Notice the newspaper in the background. What a perfect match!

I had these plain black shoes that I NEVER wore on account of them being so BLAH!
They have a nice heel, not too high not too low. First I cleaned them up real nice. It is very important to have a clean canvas to work on, especially while painting or the paint won't stay for long.

Once they're clean and dry, stuff 'em with newspaper. I already put in-soles underneath to keep the paint from staining the rest of the shoe. The newspaper tightens the material so that the paint can be applied uniformly.

If your shoes are black and you really want the colour to pop, paint a neat layer of white first. Let it dry COMPLETELY. Use a hair dryer if you are as impatient as I am. If the paint is still wet, it will mix with the green and then your shoes won't be emerald anymore.

Now paint a pretty layer of green on top. Again, wait for it to dry. Do you want pretty shoes or not? Distract yourself with 9gag. Funny right? Okay now paint another nice layer. The green should look solid now. 9gag again while it dries.

The left shoe has been varnished and the right is as it is. Choose the effect you like.

This step is optional but I prefer doing it. Paint a layer of clear polish on top of the green. It makes the paint neater and more uniform. It also makes it resistant to chipping. They'll last longer. Emerald Green is the colour of the YEAR, not month. You'll want it to last as long as possible. Now leave them alone for 24 hours, in a well ventilated zone.

Now wear your gorgeous emerald shoes and paint the town green with envy ;)

Under The Covers : March 2013

Here's the round up of March 2013 coversss!

Anushka Sharma on Elle is my clear favorite. She's rocking her new bangs in an asymmetrical Dior Pleated Dress. Love the aesthetics of the whole cover.

Archana Akhil Kumar on Marie Claire in a Gucci ruffled gown and Nirav Modi jewels. I LOVE the emerald green.

Salome Narayana Polaki (who?) in a Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna top and Ritu Beri shorts on Femina. I'm already on my way to Tresmode to get me a pair of those shoes.

Priyanka Chopra in a Shivan & Narresh swimsuit and a Burberry cape on Vogue. Eh.

Angela Jonsson in Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna and a Dior Necklace. Well, the shoot looks fun..

Which is your favorite?

Marc Cain Store Opening

I don't know about you, but I love social events on Thursdays. Its the perfect time to cut the mid-week monotony and have a little preview of the weekend. Last week I had a little preview of Marc Cain's Spring/Summer collection as well. The occasion was the launch of its 3rd store in Mumbai(Juhu, Bandra and now Napean Sea Road) and 150th store globally. Cocktails and canapes added to the fun.

The collection was interesting. Wispy, flowing fabrics, monochrome and sudden bursts of colour. I was enamored by their fuchsia pumps and emerald green scarves. I'm all about the colour right now. WANT! WANT! WANT!

While I was there I did a bit of celeb spotting. No one really struck my fancy but I do love Evelyn Sharma's dress. Or is it just the colour I like?
